How it works

Training is a short loop: a small challenge, fear's prediction before you go and reality's answer afterwards.

  1. One small challenge a day

Picked for your routine and the time you have. If it doesn't suit you, you can swap it once.

  2. First, fear makes its prediction

From 0 to 10, how hard do you think it'll be? It goes on record before you go: that's your fear's prediction.

How much does it scare you?

    0 = none · 10 = a lot

You'll only know the real one after you go.

  3. Then reality gives the answer

Now go for it. Afterwards, you say what happened and how hard it really was, and the app puts both numbers side by side.

The 5 discomfort zones

Like heart-rate training, discomfort from 0 to 10 falls into one of five zones. High zones aren't an alarm: that's where the training pays off.

  1. Calm 0–2
  2. Light 3–4
  3. Moderate 5–6
  4. Intense 7–8
  5. Max 9–10

What the app shows you over time

In Progress, you see your predicted fear next to the real one, week by week.

Example of the Progress chart, with each week's average. Week 1: predicted 7.5, actual 4; Week 2: predicted 7, actual 3.5; Week 3: predicted 6, actual 6.5; Week 4: predicted 6.5, actual 3.5; Week 5: predicted 6, actual 4; Week 6: predicted 5.5, actual 3.
